M&C Saatchi hiring spree to bolster creative pool

M&C Saatchi announced a series of strategic hires across its creative departments as part of a new focus under its Cultural Power proposition.

The announcement includes hires across the last two months and point to M&C Saatchi's global rebrand in March. 

“This influx of talent is the driving force behind our evolution as a creative powerhouse," said Steve Coll, group chief creative officer of M&C Saatchi Group.

"Our cultural power proposition recognises the potential of ideas that go beyond paid space to actively engage audiences, become part of news and conversation, create fame, and add real value to communities.

"To this end, we have deliberately sought out what we call ‘bridging talent ’- globally awarded creatives who think in a way that unites specialist skills across our group, bringing media strategists, social influencers, designers, and experiential creators into big ideas.

"Their fresh perspectives, passion, and expertise will help us deliver world-class work that transforms brands and inspires audiences.”

The hires:

Stephanie Allen and Andrew Torrisi – creative directors  
This award-winning duo has delivered standout campaigns for some of Australia’s biggest brands, with accolades from Cannes, D&AD, and One Show. Known for their fearless approach to PR and social ideas, Stephanie and Andrew excel at crafting work that cuts through the noise.

Bryce Waters – senior creative 
A versatile art director with over a decade of experience at top agencies like VML and Host , Bryce has earned numerous industry accolades including Cannes, D&AD and Spikes. Beyond advertising, his creative pursuits as a photographer, and self-proclaimed nerd inspire his bold ideas and meticulous execution. Bryce’s passion lies in crafting boundary-pushing campaigns that deliver results, with extensive experience working on Bankwest, Pizza Hut, Colgate Palmolive, and McDonald’s  brands.

Christopher McKee – creative director, Melbourne  
Birmingham born, London raised and now Melbourne based. Christopher brings a global perspective from his tenure at McCann London, where he creatively led high-profile accounts like Sky Sports and TSB, while working across other blockbuster brands including Xbox, eBay and Nurofen. With a reputation for elevating brands through daring creativity and Cannes Lions and a D&AD Yellow Pencil under his belt, Christopher adds an international edge to M&C Saatchi’s team.

Hannah Melanson – creative director
Born in Canada, lived and learned in cities around the world, and now based in Sydney, Hannah has spent over 12 years in Australia’s ad land, crafting integrated campaigns for some of the country’s largest clients, including Tourism Australia and Hyundai. An award-winning creative director known for her expertise in insight-led storytelling and digital craft, Hannah has earned numerous international and local accolades, including a D&AD Yellow Pencil.

Amy Morrison – copywriter 
At 25, Amy has already earned a D&AD Wood Pencil and a Silver Lion for her work on iconic campaigns like McDonald’s Big Mac Chant revival. She has worked on major brands, including McDonald’s, Lifeblood, and Bundaberg Rum. Amy’s infectious love for writing and storytelling promises to bring fresh perspectives and creative energy to every project she touches.

Dan Borghesi - Creative Director (Promoted )

The promotion recognises his exceptional work and leadership on projects such as the UNCLOUD anti-vaping campaign and The Plastic Forecast for the Minderoo Foundation, which garnered global recognition more than 70 times, including a Cannes Lion, D&AD Yellow Pencil, and One Show Green Pencil. Dan is a former AWARD School Tutor, Cannes Young Lion National winner, and has been at M&C since 2018.
