LiSTNR today announced that it will be the exclusive sales representative for DM Podcasts in Australia, bringing its stable of created and curated Australian podcasts to LiSTNR.

DM Podcasts is an independent podcast company founded by the team behind The Betoota Advocate, an Australian satirical news website and digital media company that puts a comedic spin on news topics and broader social observations.

As part of the strategic podcast partnership, DM Podcasts will be hosted and distributed by LiSTNR. The news comes a day after DM Podcasts and NOVA announced they were ending their partnership.

The addition of DM Podcast’s slate of podcasts will further accelerate LiSTNR’s audience network and monetisation potential and DM Podcasts will become a production house for LiSTNR as it expands its podcast creation capacity in-line with the growing market for branded podcasts.

In the latest Australian Podcast Ranker, DM Podcasts had a monthly audience of more than 520,000 listeners and 1.21 million downloads. Its podcasts that featured on the latest Top 100 All Australian Podcasts include The Betoota Advocate Podcast, Bloody Brilliant Beers, Ain’t That Swell, The Search, and Where’s Your Head At?.

DM Podcasts creates and curates podcasts mainly across the comedy, society and culture, sports genres. Other podcasts include We Got The Chocolates, Heroes and Howlers with Mikey Robins and Paul Wilson, A Matter of Crime, Bad Behaviour, The Becky & Cam Hotline, and Swipe Up

As DM Podcasts’ exclusive sales representative, LiSTNR will offer advertisers access to new audiences using trusted local voices and its ‘LiSTNR Voice’ execution to seamlessly integrate bespoke advertising campaigns.

DM Podcasts founder, Antony Stockdale, said: “We are thrilled to work with LiSTNR who we believe are the most innovative and successful player in the Australian digital audio space.

“It’s important to us that LiSTNR is free and Australian owned and has a complementary slate of content, so it is the perfect combination with our independent, creator first philosophy and team.

“Under the partnership, we will be able to maintain our independence and voice but now with the benefit of the resources and knowledge of the number one digital audio platform in Australia. It provides more opportunities for independent podcasters to grow their audience and allows DM to focus on creating unique content, with some of the best Australian talent.”

Grant Tothill, SCA’s executive head of LiSTNR Podcasts, said: “We are delighted to partner with Diamantina Media’s DM Podcasts.

“DM’s slate of Australian podcasts will complement and augment LiSTNR’s original and curated podcasts, as well as our international podcast partnerships with Wondery and Stitcher, and our Australian partnerships with the AFL, NRL, Network 10, Schwartz Media and the Royal Institution of Australia. DM Podcasts will also provide their production expertise for our rapidly growing branded podcasts.

“The addition of DM Podcasts will take our monthly listeners to almost seven million and further reinforce our position as Australia’s number one podcast network, offering advertisers the largest monetisable audience in the country, with enhanced opportunities to connect to our highly engaged podcast audiences at scale.”
