Melbourne: Rivals benefit from swing against ABC 774
The AM stations once again dominated the airwaves in Melbourne, but FoxFM did manage to take home the coveted drive slot during the latest radio ratings survey period, while 3AW benefited from a broad swing against the ABC.
It was again a period of little movement, but there were individual swings of note in the market.
In the younger demographics, Nova 100 and Fox FM managed to hold their lead once again although Fox suffered a 3.1 point swing against it in the 10-17 category to record a 20.6 share for the period.
With Nova 100 recording a 2.6 point gain in the category, finishing with a 23.8 point share, it meant that Nova and Fox FM switched places with Nova the new king.
In other demographics there was little movement, although 3AW extended its lead in the 55-64 age market to 5.7 points, and widened its lead over ABC774 in the age 65+ category after a massive 4.8 point swing against the national broadcaster.
3AW won Monday to Friday, breakfast, and morning with it extending its lead in each category after swings against ABC 774.
Meanwhile Fox FM took home drive with a 10.3% share, although Nova 100 gained ground on its nearest rival posting a 0.5 point gain against Fox FM's 0.2 to finish just 0.3 points behind.
Rounding out the survey period, 3AW took out the evening and weekend spots.
