KPMG Australia has appointed Jarther Taylor to lead the firm's national marketing function, joining as a key member of the brand and engagement leadership team.
Taylor, who is the former CEO of customer experience agency Datarati, has been working in a consultancy capacity at KPMG Australia since December 2018.
KPMG Australia national managing partner for brand and engagement and KMPG Strategy Consulting national partner Margaret Cowle says Taylor will head up the "renewed and reinvigorated" function.
"A seasoned and innovative marketer, Jarther has led transformation and CX initiatives both as an internal champion and as a consultant," Cowle says.
"His experiences helping organisations to deliver differentiating experiences across multiple channels will be a great asset as the firm continues to grow our brand, culture, data and technology to support our clients create value."
Taylor brings over 20 years' experience spanning marketing, sales and CX consulting across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific with him.
He has held senior marketing roles at Telstra, Telstra Business and IBM, as well as working agency side with clients including Volkswagen, Toyota and Virgin Mobile.
Taylor says the new role will see him transform how KPMG uses marketing.
"I’m excited to be part of the leadership team that will transform how KPMG goes to market through integrating brand, marketing and customer experience," Taylor says.
"KPMG is a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation that is working with clients to make an impact. Being part of that is thrilling.”
Last year, KPMG hired ex-Publicis CEO Andrew Baxter as a senior advisor and former Droga5 Australia CEO Sudeep Gohil as its head of brand for its Customer, Brand and Marketing Advisory (CBMA) business.
The firm launched CBMA in late 2017, off the back of a wider movement from consultancies who are looking to scoop dollars once dominated by the ad industry.
In July 2018, KPMG made its first agency move in Australia acquiring Sydney-based customer experience agency UDKU to add to its CBMA business.
