Furniture company Koala is keeping the plush bedding and furniture industry on its toes with its latest innovation, a full page press ad posing as a trademark application.
The furniture retailer is known for its cleverly crafted advertising. In August this year the company released a blitz campaign that pokes fun at theme park giant Dreamworld over its "bungled" koala sanctuary, as well as a campaign that celebrates 'Life on the sofa' with Ice-cream chain Ben & Jerry’s.
The ad that calls attention to the company's new Bed Sofa, 80% bed and 80% sofa highlights the brand's objective to bring high quality comfort to its customers.
The ad presenting as a Trade Mark application details the goods & services the company provides, from household matresses, to outdoor and office furniture.
Adam Ferrier, founder and consumer psychologist at Thinkerbell told AdNews that Koala has a track record of innovations and teased that more news is to come down the track.
“Koala has a track record of amazing innovations in the mattress and furniture markets. This latest one was so good, the Bed Sofa (80% bed, 80% sofa) was so good that we wanted to turn the trademark application into an ad.
"There’s a bit more news coming down the track.”
