Journalist Robert Ovadia has started legal action against Seven Network (Operations) Limited under the Fair Work Act.
Papers alleging his dismissal contravened regulations were lodged Friday by employment and workplace law firm Laxon Lex in the Federal Court.
Also named is Anthony De Ceglie, Seven West's director of News and Current Affairs.
Ovadia reportedly claims Seven engaged in adverse action against him, breached his contract and caused him intentional harm.
Seven would not comment on legal proceedings before the Federal Court other than to say the network would defend its position.
"As previously noted, Robert Ovadia no longer works at Seven," a Seven spokesperson said.
"Seven takes very seriously any allegations in relation to sexual harassment, bullying and other behaviours deemed to be inappropriate within the workplace. We manage allegations confidentially and deal with any substantiated breaches decisively.”
The Sydney Morning Herald reported in June that Ovadia was dismissed following alleged inappropriate behaviour.
Ovadia rejected the allegations. "Any suggestion I have behaved inappropriately at any time is false, malicious and will be defended," he said.
