JCDecaux New Zealand has integrated live out-of-home availability into Calibre, New Zealand’s industry wide measurement platform.

Live availability is not yet available in Australia’s MOVE - the Calibre equivalent in NZ - however JCDecaux has its own internal tool for live availability called JCDecaux UNIVERSE.

Built by REACH Media, Calibre's new functionality allows media agencies and clients to plan JCDecaux campaigns with real-time site availability. Providing certainty that all JCDecaux assets proposed, across its portfolio of airport, digital large format and static large format, are available to book at the time of planning.

Kurt Malcolm, JCDecaux head of trading and programmatic, said Calibre's overarching goal since launch in 2017 was to make the planning and buying of Out-of-Home simpler and more efficient for our clients.

“Launching live availability first in the New Zealand market is a giant step forward in us delivering on this goal," Malcolm said.

"Expect to see us driving towards automating the buying process over the next 12 months.”

Clients and agencies with Calibre logins will be able to see availability when selecting JCDecaux’s assets from 24th May 2023. In the interim, the JCDecaux sales team will be organising live demonstrations to take clients through the functionality of JCDecaux live availability.

Mike Harrison, general manager of OMD New Zealand said it’s amazing to see JCDecaux New Zealand take the bold move to lead the market in providing availability through Calibre.

"This will save time and money for both agencies and advertisers and allow better decisions to be made faster," Harrison said.
