James Warburton finished up today as CEO of Seven West Media, earlier than expected.
Jeff Howard, the former CFO, starts as chief executive Friday, April 19.
Chairman Kerry Stokes thanked Warburton for his contribution to the business over many years.
Warburton's plans for departure, at the end of this financial year, were announced in December.
The search for a new CFO continues. Craig Haskins is acting.
The media group reported a steep drop in net profit after tax, down 52% to $54.46 million for the half year to December.
Market analysts see a continuing weak TV advertising market and Seven has been tightly controlling costs in response.
