Is this real life, or is this reality?

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) once again dominated TV land last night, while arguably the most compelling reality content of the evening came from a maverick West Australian MP.

The Network Seven reality food show pulled in 1.4 million viewers in the capital cities according to the preliminary overnight figures from OzTAM -- but that's a 196,000 drop on its premiere episode yesterday.

Once again the major reality formats from each network in MKR, The Block, and I'm a Celebrity went up against each other in the 7.30pm timeslot as the viewing public starts to get a taste of what's on offer from each.

I'm a Celebrity continued to shed viewers, down from 755,000 on yesterday's performance to 685,000, although Network Ten said the confirmed times were more around the 705,000 mark.

Interestingly, the second half of the show managed to bring in more viewers with an average of 774,000 viewers coming for the late show.

Meanwhile, The Block continued to languish compared to its Glasshouse  and Fans vs Faves efforts, pulling in a comparatively low 739,000, also down from Monday's figures.

However, the most compelling reality content of the evening came from the ABC's 7.30 program with Federal Liberal MP Dennis Jensen calling for a spill in the partyroom when it meets on Tuesday.

It managed to be the 10th most watched program of the evening, pulling in 764,000 viewers. This means it beat out both I'm a Celebrity and The Block, and viewers will be tuning to see how the party drama unfolds.

Viewers again will be treated to a triple dose of reality at 7.30pm tonight, with all three shows going head to head once again, with neither network blinking and moving its program at this early stage.

It all added up to give Seven a slender win for the night, enjoying a 29.8% share against Nine's 29.1%. On a main channel basis, Seven won by 22.2% to 19.9% for Nine.

Network Ten grabbed a 19.9% share, while the ABC finished the night on 16.5%.

Take a look at the numbers for yourself.
