Independently owned creative agency 72andSunny has appointed Wesley Hawes chief creative officer.
He will spearhead the creative team in Australia and lead the agency alongside head of brand Laura Popa and president Ross Berthinussen.
Hawes joins after almost five years at indie agency INNOCEAN Australia as executive creative director, where he worked with clients including Kia and White Ribbon.
He is also co-creator of Fck The Cupcakes, an organisation and brand that seeks to bring men into the gender equality conversation, and co-founder of Love Our Work, an initiative designed to improve "creative feedback" and raise editorial standards.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as chief creative officer at 72andSunny ANZ,” Hawes said on LinkedIn over the weekend.
Hawes joins at a time of momentum for the agency, which added realestate.com.au, BCF, MLC and Afterpay to its client roster late last year.
Berthinussen is excited about Hawes is joining the team. “Our founding belief is a belief in optimism, in finding opportunity in any challenge, and Wez is the embodiment of that ethos,” he said.
“Over the last few years we have experienced incredible momentum and are looking forward to how he can help us build on that by fostering our collaborative, creative culture and delivering what we get out of bed for every day, radical, culturally led ideas that grow our client partners' brands and business.”
