Integrated communications firm Icon Agency has appointed business consultant Gabrielle Gray general manager.

The newly created role will see Gray lead the commercial strategy of the business. The appointment follows two years of significant growth with Icon doubling in size and revenue, and earn 41 award nominations and 22 wins since the start of 2021.

Gray joined Icon in late 2021 in a consulting capacity to manage finance and resourcing on a number of key client accounts, and made an immediate impact.

Icon managing director Joanne Painter, said: “Gabrielle has been a fantastic addition to the Icon team. She delivers tremendous value across all departments of the business and is a natural choice to lead the team as general manager in our next phase of growth.

“Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our ethos. We’re proud to add another talented woman to our senior leadership team. As a female leader myself, I know how important it is to ensure a balanced and diverse workforce at all levels, and to provide senior role models for young practitioners to see and work with – and to aspire to such roles in future."

Gray said: “It’s fantastic to join a business with a strong focus on making a positive impact in the world. As one of Asia-Pacific’s most exciting and rapidly expanding agencies, it's brilliant to be part of a team of dynamic practitioners focused on creating value not only for clients, but also for their communities."
