B2B marketing consultancy I.M.A has won freight solutions provider Allied Express and engineering consultancy SMEC following competitive pitches.

I.M.A will assist on all strategic marketing and tactical requirements for the Allied Express brand. I.M.A’s remit for SMEC includes creation of a new brand positioning across all touchpoints and comms.

Jake Cush, group account director at I.M.A said he was delighted to add the brands to the agency’s portfolio.

"We felt a strong allegiance with Allied’s team. As brands we have similar ambitions and share a hunger to succeed," Cush said.

"We are both focused on creating new paths for growth and we look forward to working with their team to drive the brands new strategic direction."

Michelle McDowell, managing director at Allied Express, said entrepreneurial spirit and innovation are in the company's DNA.

"And we needed a marketing consultancy that will support our strong growth trajectory, and take our compelling offer to new markets," McDowell said.

"I am confident I.M.A is the perfect partner to help us achieve our goals.”

Cush said that SMEC’s rich heritage stretches back to the key role they played in the development of the Snowy Hydro Scheme.

"There is such rich territory to deliver a unique brand positioning that clearly articulates its USP and sets the company ahead of its competitors," he said.

Suzanne Gibbs, director of global communications and marketing at SMEC, said from the get-go SMEC was impressed with I.M.A’s passion and creativity, and the effort they had made to understand the business and customers.

“We’re excited to forge a strong partnership with I.M.A that will fulfil SMEC’s mission to align under a truly global brand with shared purpose and values," Gibbs said.

"We look forward to working with I.M.A’s team to help bring our brand’s ambitions to life.”
