Mobile outdoor media specialist Hyped Media, with bookings going south fast, has launched buy now, pay later billboard deals, insisting there are still audiences during the coronavirus crisis..
Hyped is now offering, with a small deposit, six months to pay for campaigns. It is also offering to put up a logo and content without charge on one of the mobile billboards.
James Henry the director of the mobile billboard business, says the coronavirus has eaten into Hyped Media which has assets in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
“Bookings are bad at the moment,” he told AdNews. “Half of our business is events based and the other half is advertising.”
However, he says some streets are flooded with cars. The carparks at supermarkets and Bunnings are as busy as they ever were.
“This means there's a very small section where OOH (out-of-home) advertising which is relevant at the moment,” he says.
But advertisers are spoilt with a glut of supply. There are a lot of billboards out there seeking creative.
“This is why Hyped Media has taken the strategy of introducing this buy now, pay later concept,” he says.
“We are a firm believer that strong brands will/should be able to take great advantage of the current situation.
“A mobile LED billboard truck positioned roadside will only strengthen the brand when the wheels start turning again.
“There's a big risk for brands to go into hibernation at the moment and, when the good times return, maybe their response time to get active again will be slower than their competitors.”
