The lead stories on Australian news website can change as often as 60 times in a day.
Analysis by media monitory company Streem shows the sites with the highest turnover as news.com.au, the Daily Mail and Brisbane’s Courier Mail.
Streem looked at the number of stories used in the 10 lead positions on a range of Australia’s news websites between 6 am and 10 pm.
Stories had an average lifespan of less than three hours in the top 10 positions, before being cycled down the page.
That's compared to 4.5 hours at The Australian and nearly five hours at The Guardian.
