Havas Media has been appointed to the Sydney Water media account as part on the NSW Government’s rostered media buying agencies, AdNews can reveal.
Sydney Water is one of Australia's largest water and wastewater providers, servicing almost five million people in Sydney, the Illawarra and Blue Mountains areas.
Havas already work with Sydney Water, with creative agency Host winning the account in 2011, which is now managed by Host/Havas, following the acquisition last year.
Sydney Water has worked with Host for about seven years and since the recent merger of Host/Havas has been working with the entire Village including Host, Havas Media, and One Green Bean for social and PR
"Sydney Water has always worked closely with communities across Greater Sydney to raise awareness of everyday behaviours that affect the supply and treatment of water and wastewater," Sydney Water manager - brand, external communications and engagement Jennifer Whittle says.
"Working with Havas Media allows us to extend our grassroots activities to broader behavioural change campaigns, especially as the current drought increases the need for all people to understand that water is our most precious resource. Our current campaign is: Love water, don’t waste it."
Sydney Water added it will continue to focus on campaigns that educate the community and drive behavioural change for the benefit of the environment and its customers.
Earlier this week Havas also won the media buying and planning for Puma following a global review.
The review was part of Puma's strategy to "transform its consumer marketing approach and deepen its legacy as one of the world's leading sportswear brands", the company said in a statement.
The agency also won the Kia digital and programmatic account, consolidating its services with the brand after it was appointed to the $19 million media account in 2017.
