Octagon, the global creative, integrated marketing, and talent management agency in sports and entertainment, has appointed Guy Futcher as executive creative director of Octagon APAC.
Futcher will lead all creative development, production, planning, and strategy for Octagon’s accounts in the region, including Mastercard, Standard Chartered, and Unilever.
Based in Octagon’s Singapore office, Futcher will report to Joanne Warnes, managing director, Octagon APAC.
Warnes said Futcher brings a wealth of creative knowledge and experience across global, regional, and local brands.
"Guy will continue to evolve our creative offering and further establish our world-class services, and the award-winning campaigns we create for our clients," she said.
Futcher said he has wanted to expand his creative experience in the sports and entertainment world for years.
"To have the opportunity to do so with Octagon’s world-class team, is beyond exciting. Already, I can see that the team is passionate, the clients are hungry, and the exponential potential we have to continue driving impact in this part of the world," he said.
"Add to that, the chance to utilise new tech, create change at scale, and deepen connections with fans everywhere, and I feel like all my footy finals have come at once.”
Prior to joining Octagon, Futcher served as regional creative director at VCCP Singapore, leading local, national, and regional creative projects for Shell, Deliveroo, SunLife Insurance, and Cathay Pacific, among others.
Previously, Futcher also held creative roles at other agencies, including as ECD at VMLY&R, as well as CD titles at both M&C Saatchi Australia and Leo Burnett.
