Grey Melbourne has hired Ogilvy Melbourne executive creative director Michael Knox to head creative, replacing Ant Shannon who left last month.
Knox joins Grey Melbourne as its executive creative director. His appointment is part of an ongoing restructure at the agency which began when Luke Waldren joined as managing partner a year ago. Waldren and Knox had previously worked together at Ogilvy Melbourne.
Knox leaves Ogilvy after almost a decade with the agency, with the last six as the agency's lead creative. Prior to that, Knox spent seven years at Clemenger BBDO.
Grey Group executive chairman and chief executive Paul Gardner said: "We've had a terrific team in place at Grey for many years and it was simply time to evolve and to add to our offer to meet new demands and challenges."
Knox said: "You'd be a fool not to have a tremendous amount of respect for the work Grey has produced over many years. To be working with Nigel, Pete and in fact the whole crew at Grey is an exciting prospect. And to be back working with Luke, who places huge value on ideas and chasing opportunities is terrific."
Grey Melbourne has recently picked up business for Lean Cuisine, Melbourne Storm and the National Heart Foundation.
JayGrey executive creative director Jay Furby will continue to oversee creative services for Grey's Sydney office.
