Francis Coady has been promoted to the newly created role of Havas Media Group chief marketing officer.

He was asked to join the Havas Media Group five years ago to establish the Havas Sports & Entertainment division, building it into a multimillion dollar-billing operation.

He has won large-scale clients and produced award-winning campaign work for brands such as BUPA, Gillette, LG, NRMA, CGU, Virgin, Red Bull and most recently, the highly successful six-part digital-first series THE LONG ROAD, for Destination NSW.

“Our job as marketing professionals is to entertain, engage and educate," says Coady.

"The last five years working at Havas Media have given me the opportunity to bring this philosophy to life, with the support of incredible leadership, a smart, empathetic team, which has fostered a culture that is always focused on doing work with meaning.”

His 20-year career working across the music, film, partnership, content, media and marcoms industries includes 14 years as director of The Coady Group, where he oversaw artists including Thirsty Merc and Hi-5. He also created and spent 13
years executive producing the Bondi Short Film Festival.

Havas Media CEO Virginia Hyland: “Francis has made an outstanding contribution to our business after building our specialist sports and entertainment division from scratch.

"The creation of the CMO position not only recognises Francis’ exceptional track record over the past five years, it will enable us to leverage his broad cross-industry expertise to grow the agency and the strength of our amazing client partnerships.”

A formal announcement on Coady’s replacement as general manager Havas Sports & Entertainment announced soon.
