Revenue at Foxtel, currently being sold to global sports streaming platform DAZN, Group, was flat for the December quarter.

News Corp’s latest results, for the December quarter, excluded Foxtel because it is a discontinued business.

The media group, without the cable and streaming business, posted a better than expected 5% increase in revenue to $US2.24 billion.

Among later fillings to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, News Corp lodged an overview of Foxtel’s revenue and expenses.

These documents show Foxtel’s revenue down 0.8% to $US462 million for the three months to December.

This doesn’t give a clear picture of local sales for Foxtel. However, based on the numbers revealed it is highly likely Foxtel lifted sales.

The reporting of Foxtel revenue in US dollars, strengthening against the Australian dollar, has lately devalued the sales work locally. The dollar value shrinks when reported in US dollars.

In the September quarter, News Corp reported Foxtel revenue up 3% to $US501 million, driven by streaming platforms Kayo and BINGE from increases in both volume and pricing.

Then Foxtel’s streaming subscription revenue represented 34% of circulation and subscription, up from 30% in the prior year.

Total paid subscribers were more than 4.6 million, a 1% increase.
