Journalists on journalism.
The Fourth Estate podcast, presented by Peter Fray, co-director of Centre for Media Transition at UTS, talks to Lisa Davies, only the third female editor of the Sydney Morning Herald in its 180-year history.
She talks about her job, the Liberal fundraiser, Alan Jones -- and plenty more.
Nine and Fairfax Media merged in December last year.
"We've been really happy with our new owners," she tells Fray, himself a former editor of the Sydney Mornign Herald.
"I think the fit is good. We feel part of a very big and powerful media organisation and that hasn't always been the case ... we feel quite stable and we haven't seen any cost-cutting in recent times ... since I became editor in 2017 ... We feel really safe and quite powerful."
