Former Ten group chief financial officer (CFO), and most recently CFO and chief operating officer (COO) of the Football Federation of Australia (FFA), John Kelly, has joined the leadership team of Southern Cross Austereo (SCA).
Kelly takes on the newly created role of COO managing the operations of the company. He will report to CEO Grant Blackley and will work with the board and leadership team in crafting the strategic direction of the company.
His new role will focus on leading and managing SCA metropolitan operations and its functions including engineering, IT, technology and human resources. Kelly will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure coordination across the business.
“John's appointment is a key element in building SCA's management team, who are responsible for leading the company’s success,” Blackley said.
“His strong strategic focus and management skills, demonstrated by his long senior career in both media and sport will be invaluable in building as stronger and more successful SCA.”
Kelly has worked with the FFA since January 2012, initially as CFO and then as COO as of February 2013. Prior to that he spent more than 16 years at Ten, most recently as group CFO until departing in 2011. He was employed at the broadcaster during part of Blackley's tenure as CEO.
“I'm excited at the opportunity of joining Grant and the leadership team of SCA to further advance improved performance of such a significant group of media assets,” Kelly said.
