Former Seven West Media chief financial officer Dave Boorman has resurfaced at Ten as its new CFO, effective as of next Monday (2 November).
In his new role Boorman will report to Ten CEO Paul Anderson.
Boorman made a shock exit at Seven earlier this year, tendering his resignation which was “reluctantly accepted” by the media company. He had been with Seven for nearly two years.
He previously worked as the CFO at Vodafone Hutchinson Australia and was the CFO and strategy director at Vodafone Australia.
At the time, Seven West CEO Tim Worner said that Boorman had been instrumental in a round of cost-cutting at the company to make up shortfalls in advertising revenue.
Anderson said Boorman's experience was key to his hire.
“Dave will bring a wide range of skills to Ten, covering key areas such as strategy, corporate finance, business management, people development and investor relations,” Anderson said. “His experience, talent, energy and enthusiasm will be a valuable asset to Ten.”
Boorman pointed to the recent acquisition by Foxtel of no more than 15% of Ten, and the movement of Ten's sales arm to the Multi Channel Network (MCN) umbrella as exciting developments for the company.
“The business is gathering momentum and that, coupled with the new strategic arrangements with Foxtel and Multi Channel Network, provide a tremendous new base from which to grow,” Boorman said.
