Mark Echo, formerly of Meta, is joining insurance company Insurance Australia Group as communication planning and media lead.
After two years at Meta Echo was one of the many that lost his job as client partner at Facebook during the large-scale layoffs.
On LinkedIn Echo said: "Sadly, as the state of the economy has affected both local and global businesses, my time as a Meta-mate has come to an end.
"Thank you to everyone at Meta for making the place what it is. A community of the brightest minds and full of passion, enthusiasm and lots of laughs!"
