Queenslanders got a rude awakening this morning thanks to Optus, which screwed up something in its clock settings, meaning it pushed clocks forward an hour, and everyone got up an hour early.
The hashtag #optuswrongtime was all over social media. Sometimes one brand’s cock-up, is another brand’s opportunity.
A little like that hallowed Oreo Dunking in the dark moment from the Super Bowl two years ago when the lights when out, boating, campaign and fishing retailer BCF has used the Optus clock cock-up to its advantage using a Facebook post to encourage all Queenslanders to take advantage of the early start and finish work an hour early to go fishing.
The idea was spawned by Y&R Brisbane.
