On breakfast, the Kyle & Jackie O Show on ARN's KIIS pulled 12.5, down from 13.3.
Duncan Campbell, ARN’s chief content officer, said: “Maintaining such great results in 2022 is an incredible achievement and testament to the calibre of people across the network both on and off the air who work so hard to ensure the audience and local community is at the heart of everything we do.
“Today’s survey results, combined with the continued growth in our podcast offering, once again highlights the strength of ARN as the leading audio company in Australia. In particular, our ongoing dominance in the two biggest markets of Sydney and Melbourne means continuing opportunities for clients to capitalise on our highly engaged audience.
“It’s also pleasing to see that 87% of commercial stations increased their audience. This is a great story for radio and it’s continued relevance here in Australia.”
Dave Cameron, SCA's chief content officer, said: "SCA’s results nationally across the Hit and Triple M networks continue to show a remarkable audience return to radio, with another record national cume of 5.971 million to our metro stations.
"In particular, The Fox in Melbourne continues to break records as Australia’s most listened to radio station with 1.325 million weekly listeners. This is the highest cume ever in Australian radio history.
"2DayFM’s fifth cume increase in a row reflects its ongoing growth, and the Breakfast show with Hughsey, Ed and Erin has again grown its audience by another 49,000 listeners recording the highest audience growth in Sydney today and a 38% increase this year.
"Triple M Sydney and Melbourne, both with relatively new breakfast shows, continue to perform well in their key target demographics, nearing all time audience cume highs, alongside pleasingly strong results for B105 as Brisbane’s No.2 FM station, and Mix 94.5 as Perth’s No.2 FM station."
