HT&E has changed its name to ARN Media, to reflect its growth prospects in radio.
Shareholders at the Annual General Meeting approved the name change, the company told the ASX today.
"I believe this name change reflects the ambitions we have building the most successful audio entertainment business in Australia," CEO Ciaran Davis told shareholders yesterday.
"The future of digital audio holds immense potential for growth, innovation, and cultural impact.
"Our company is very well placed to shape the audio landscape in Australia and that is why you are voting today to change our name from HT&E to ARN Media.
"Since selling (out-of-home unit) Adshel for $570 million in 2018, we have set about delivering a market leading radio business and building a digitally-centred audio and entertainment business."
ARN has115 stations across 65 markets plus 46 DAB+ stations. Brands include the KIIS Network, the Pure Gold Network, CADA and digital entertainment platform iHeart.
The company's original name was APN News & Media. APN stood for Australian Provincial Newspapers but the company then sold its newspaper assets to NewsCorp.
That was changed in 2017 to Here, There & Everywhere (HT&E) to reflect its transformation away from print to radio, outdoor and digital.
The brand name, strategy and positioning were developed by Bohemia. Yolo worked on the brand design.
The latest name change means a change in the ASX ticker code to A1N fromHT1.
