FremantleMedia is looking to leverage the popularity of its Family Feud TV show, by releasing a play-at-home board game ahead of Christmas.
Family Feud was revived by Network Ten in July this year in a bid to wrest ratings from rivals in the early evening timeslot.
The game, developed with the network, will be available in stores around Australia today is part of a push to strengthen the brand's multi-channel platforms.
It has also planned the launch of an official Family Feud game app, Family Feud 2, which will be released on iOS, Android and Facebook. The app will allow users to play the Family Feud game against seven players and mirrors the on-air format.
FremantleMedia Australia general manager of brand partnerships Zara Curtis said: “Heritage brands are really connecting with viewers and FremantleMedia Australia recognises this.
“We have worked on a development plan with Network Ten and the board game is the first of many natural brand extensions we will bring to Australian families to access Family Feud.”
