This week Fairfax will publish the largest edition of Traveller since the liftout began 11 years ago.
At a time when print audiences are declining, the travel paper is showing signs of strong readership.
Included in Fairfax's The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, this special edition, which is expected to be 40 pages bigger than competitor titles, will be delivered in this Saturday's edition.
Traveller editor Anthony Dennis says it shows the magazine's leadership in travel journalism.
“This stunning, record-sized issue underscores Traveller's leadership in innovative and award-winning Australian travel journalism across multiple-platforms,” Dennis says.
Michael Grenenger, group director luxury and lifestyle at Fairfax Media, says this edition will deliver more of what their readers are passionate about.
“A large number of The Herald readers are travel intenders who rely heavily on our products when looking for travel inspiration and when making significant purchasing decisions around their travel plans,” Grenenger says.
“Our special glossy Traveller editions are representative of the strength and quality of the Traveller brand in market. They are also a way to reward our loyal and engaged readers.”
Traveller recently expanded its digital presence and experienced an increase in audience for its print edition.
