Fairfax Radio Network is launching a national campaign for its “Summer of Cricket” hinged on its “expert commentary team”.

It is the second year of the network's five year cricket broadcast deal which gives Fairfax broadcast rights to the four test matches, all one day internationals, big bash league and international T20 matches.

The campaign, which will run in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, highlights Fairfax's expert sport commentary to promote its coverage on 2UE, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR. The campaign will be focused on outdoor with print and digital ads appearing across the Sydney Morning Herald, Sun Herald, The Age, the Australian Financial Review, WAToday and Brisbane Times.

Fairfax Radio Network national sales director Nick Randall said the campaign which includes headlines such as “Commentary with bite” and “We've picked our team for the summer” highlights the quality of the cricket coverage.

“Our network’s summer of cricket is set to be bigger and better than 2013/2014,” Randall said.

“Our talented commentary team will bring listeners the cricket they want, while advertisers will be able to reach a captivated located and national audience. Cricket is undoubtedly Australia's biggest sport over summer, and Fairfax Radio Network celebrates this heritage and tradition by bringing listeners the most comprehensive cricket coverage.”

Fairfax's commentary team includes newcomers Glenn McGrath, Carl Rackemann and Tom Moody who will join its regulars Ian Chappell, Dean Jones, Damien Fleming, Greg Matthews, John Emburey, Mickey Arthur, Bruce Eva and Tim Lane.

The campaign will run throughout the cricket season.
