The 2023 Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC) is calling for entries for its Skulls Awards, closing Monday, July 31.
This year the Skulls - named for the awards being a solid pewter skull, adorned with a golden brain and Swarovski crystals for the Diamond Skull - will see judging will take place in New York City, and includes a panel of judges from the worlds of creativity, design, production, strategy and digital crafts.
The Skulls format also includes The Diamond Skulls awards, which takes a folio of work from individuals across all disciplines of creative, digital, production, design, client service person of the year and production person of the year.
Josh Edge, president of PADC, said for the first time, and to better reflect the ever-expanding commercial creativity industries that the PADC supports and awards through its membership, the PADC has opened up its traditional Chair of Skulls role to include three different people - Sarah Barclay (marketing and communications), Nick Ace (brand and design) and Rafael Rizuto (creativity and craft).
"This gives us the ability to have some really in-depth conversations/arguments about the best ways to award the best work that WA has to offer. It also stops one person from ultimately having a single point of view on the entire years' judging results," said Edge.
The marketing and communications panel includes Samira Ansari, Michael Raso, Piper Hickman, Francesca Bonomi and Lea Ladera. The brand and design panel includes Aaron Padin, Deva Pardue, Graham Clifford, Hernan Ibanez and Nicole Kupferman. The creativity and craft panels features the likes of Matt Eastwood, Andre Bittar, Daniela Michelon, Mateus De Paula Santos and Menno Kluin.
Tia Brazier, General Manager of PADC, said that this is arguably one of the most diverse and talented judging panels for any regional awards show, anywhere in the world.
"We're so excited to get stuck in over in New York, and bring WA's best and brightest to the world," she said.
The Skulls Award Show will take place November 3 at The Westin.
