Enero Group, the owner of creative agency BMF, heath care agency Orchard and communications unit Hotwire, reported net revenue down 12% to $88.3 million in the half year to December.
Net profit after tax was down by more than half to $3.2 million.
The company said the results were hit by subdued economic conditions and by challenging technology and adtech markets.
Cost initiatives and an ongoing efficiency focus pulled back expenses by 6%.
The statutory net loss after tax was $800,000, which included restructuring costs of $2.6 million.
Enero earlier this month appointed Ian Ball, with considerable private equity experience, to the newly created role of chief operating officer.
