Brent Scrimshaw, CEO of Enero Group, the owner of creative agency BMF, has resigned to pursue another "opportunity".

“It has been a great privilege to lead Enero Group’s portfolio around the world, together with an amazing global team of exceptionally talented, creative and highly skilled people," he said.

"I wish the team great success and look forward to watching their continued progress in the future.

“With a strong foundation in place, Enero Group remains well positioned for future success, and I have every confidence that the business will continue to thrive and succeed in the years ahead.

"I will always remain an advocate of both the business and the incredible team behind it and I wish the team great success in the future.”

The Enero board of directors has started a global search for a new CEO.

Scrimshaw's departure date hasn't been set.

Ann Sherry last month resigned as chair of  the ASX-listed company. Ian Rowden, currently an independent non-executive director, will succeed her on October 18.

Enero posted a 7% rise to $10.3 million in like-for-like net profit for the year to June but reported a statutory loss from writedowns on the value of acquisitions.

Net revenue fell 6.2% to $189.7 million, largely driven by challenging technology and adtech markets.

This was partly offset by a “strong” contribution from agencies BMF and Orchard with double-digit revenue growth and expanding margins.
