ARN's response to the ratings

ARN chief content officer, Duncan Campbell: “What a great way to finish the ratings year . Toachieve record breaking results in a market more competitive than ever is no mean feat.

"The results that we’ve continued to grow across 2022 is testament to everyone at ARN who works so hard to keep these shows and stations powering ahead in the ratings. They continue to deliver quality connections with their audiences, which in turn allows us to deliver exceptional results for our commercial partners.

“It’s been an incredible year especially for The Kyle & Jackie O Show which continues to get bigger and better. The show has grown its audience by a massive 20.5% in 2022, which is a phenomenal achievement and testament to the incredible connection Kyle and Jackie O have with each other and their listeners.

"We’re looking forward to another big year across the network in 2023.”

SCA's response to the ratings

SCA chief content officer, Dave Cameron: "Today SCA has delivered the group’s highest national cume audience ever, with 6.131 million listeners across its Hit and Triple M networks. This result is led by The Fox in Melbourne, now holding the enviable record for the biggest cume audience ever for any Australian radio station, at 1.398 million people per week – an incredible result driven by Melbourne’s highest cuming Breakfast show, Fifi, Fev Nick.

"Nationally, the Hit Network is tied at no. 1 with the largest audience of 4.445 million and is no.1 among both people and women aged 25-54, in both audience and share. Triple M Network’s cume audience is 2.986 million and it is no. 1 nationally in its heartland of men aged 25-54.

"In Brisbane, B105 capped off the year with its third successive win as Brisbane’s no. 1 station overall, including no.1 again in Breakfast with Stav, Abby & Matt.  Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Liesel, Liam & Dobbo also had the biggest share increase in the Brisbane Drive shift. In Sydney, 2Day FM continues its fantastic momentum, with its cume audience growing by another 36,000 since last survey to reach 969,000 weekly listeners, an incredible 56% cume increase in 12 months and its highest cume in over a decade. Hughesy, Ed & Erin in Breakfast attracted another 18,000 listeners over the survey period.

"Triple M Adelaide once again claimed no. 1 for Breakfast with Roo, Ditts & Loz and also the no. 1 Drive show, The Rush Hour with Bernie, Blewey & Jars, in people aged 25-54. Likewise, The Marty Sheargold Show on Triple M Melbourne Breakfast remains no.1 in its 25-54 male target.  In addition, RnB Fridays Radio is now SCA’s #1 DAB station with a record cume of 330,000 - up 38,000, including Mike E & Emma in Breakfast gaining another 27,000 national listeners.

"We are heading into 2023 with an outstanding talent line-up, including new shows, Mick & MG in the Morning for Triple M Sydney and Bec & Soda for Breakfast on SAFM, as well as our returning talent on Hit with Carrie & Tommy in Drive and Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, plus The Marty Sheargold Show on Triple M Melbourne and our successful state-based Rush Hour Drive shows."

NOVA's response to the ratings

NOVA Entertainment’s head of programming for Smooth FM Network, Peter Clay: “Smooth FM has had an incredible year, I’m grateful for the team’s efforts, with the brand increasing its reach to 2,664,000 nationally.

“With Smooth FM launching nationally in September this year, with live and local shows in Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, we couldn’t be happier to see the new stations number one in their markets. Combined with Smooth FM 95.3’s results in Sydney, with the station #2 FM and the most listened to station in market, it is a great result overall for Australia’s Feel Good station. We look forward to continuing to play some of the best songs and greatest artists, to provide the perfect soundtrack for listeners as they head into the festive season.”
