Fred Levron, the chief creative officer of Dentsu, is leaving the Japan-based global advertising group by "mutual agreement".
The move closes the book on Dentsu's experiment to run two separate companies, a domestic Japan agency and a global business.
He was appointed to the global role, excluding Japan, in November 2021, part of the push to transform the international arm of the agency.
Levron is credited with creating a new global creative network, Dentsu Creative.
He was teamed with Wendy Clark, who left her role in 2020 as DDB Worldwide president and CEO to be international CEO at Dentsu.
However, she left Dentsu last year and soon after Dentsu announced it was joining the Japan and international businesses into one.
This was the second restructure at Dentsu in less than a year.
Dentsu said of Levron: "During his tenure as dentsu’s global chief creative officer (excluding Japan), Fred developed and launched Dentsu Creative to the market, bringing together Dentsu’s global creative efforts under one roof, and led the organization to a very successful showing at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.
“Creative remains a critical cornerstone of our strategic vision for Dentsu. We thank Fred for his energy and commitment to the transformation of Dentsu Creative and wish him success in his next challenge.”
