Creative agency Emotive has appointed Rhian Mason as head of content distribution.

Mason joins Emotive from the DDB Group where she led social strategy and content for Mango Communications and DDB Sydney, delivering integrated strategy, social, and influencer expertise within PR and creative disciplines.

Prior to DDB Mason worked for IPG Mediabrands in Sydney and London, establishing the branded content offerings and leading a team of specialists to deliver work across social media, influencers, and native advertising partnerships.

Mason will lead Emotive’s content distribution offering which focuses on social and earned media, combining creative integrity with deep platform understanding.

She will also join the leadership team with a focus on growing the agency and creative culture.

“Emotive do things differently, as a long-time admirer of their approach to creativity and brand storytelling, I'm super excited to be joining the team and working alongside some brilliant people," Mason says.

"Their ability to own the whole creative journey is what sets them apart. From strategy and ideas, to audience experience and distribution, having the opportunity to flex my content expertise and develop the distribution arm further is what made this opportunity so exciting. With an undeniable momentum behind them and a fantastic set of clients, I can't wait to get started.”

Emotive CEO and founder Simon Joyce says Mason's appointment is another "key step" in the agency's evolution.

"Ensuring big ideas are found by the right audience has never been more challenging, and as a creative agency, our content distribution offering is a true differentiator that ensures ideas come to life in channel exactly as they were intended to,” Joyce says.

Mason's appointment comes on the back of continued growth for the Sydney agency, with an expanding client base including Optus, Audible, Modibodi, Pernod Ricard, Unilever, HelloFresh, Google, Australian Turf Club, YoPRO, Nutriboost and ARN.

Mason commenced on March 9, 2021 and will be based out of the Emotive Beach House in Tamarama.
