DDB has made a number of redundancies, AdNews can reveal.

The agency, part of Omnicom, is believed to be making cuts globally.

It is unclear how many local roles have been affected.

DDB Group Sydney CEO Sheryl Marjoram confirmed the redundancies in a statement.

“Yes, we have made some redundancies recently,” she told AdNews

“These are people who have made valuable contributions to our business and our culture, and we acknowledge that this is a difficult time for those who are impacted.

“Our priority is to support them through this transition, offering access to our Employee Assistance Program and connections within our network to help them find their next opportunity.

“Out of respect for those impacted, we will not be commenting further.”

This round of redundancies, the second so far this year, comes after a complex and challenging period for the agency.

“Redundancies within creative agencies are an unfortunate cost of doing business, but they are not just a business matter; they are also a human matter,” Marjoram said in January.

“People who have done brilliant things for DDB Group, who are both talented and nice, will be affected.”

DDB Sydney late last year announced the end of its 13-year partnership with Westpac, effective from February this year.
