Ten's first season of Dancing with the Stars since its revival came to an end last night, with Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson being named the winner, with the episode drawing in 687,000 metro overnight viewers.

Ten announced late last year that Dancing with the Stars would return in 2019, after several years off the air. The show was originally broadcast by Ten's rival Seven.

The new iteration of the show was co-hosted by radio personality Amanda Keller and recent Gold Logie winner Grant Denyer, with the launch episode drawing in 621,000 metro overnight viewers.

Last night's finale was unable to beat its former broadcaster, Seven, which took the top primetime slot position, with the MKR semi-finals delivering 812,000 viewers.

Seven also claimed the main channel overnight win, with a 22% audience share, while Nine and Ten came in second and the third, with a 17.5% and 15.2% share, respectively.

On subscription TV, Foxtel's broadcast of the second episode of the final season of Game of Thrones delivered close to 960,000 viewers on its main platform, according to OzTam's preliminary report.

This does not account for the pay-TV providers on-demand and streaming services, Foxtel Go and Now.

Last week's debut of the eighth and final season of the popular fantasy series delivered Foxtel close to 1.2 million total viewers and, based on early figures, will look to do the same this week.

Foxtel's sales house MCN also revealed last week that global brands including Mazda and L'oreal had signed on as major sponsors.
