Jordan Florence-Rieniets, senior campaign strategist, CREATE (Nova Entertainment), took to his Melbourne kitchen when the coronavirus first hit.
He set himself a target of creating an amazing breakfast each day as he worked from home in Carlton North.
AdNews first reported his efforts in April and he’s now created 100 breakfasts.
His colleagues loved the daily updates so much, they created an Instagram account, @UnprecedentedBreakfasts, to share them with the world.
“We gained a bit of time back each day by no longer needing to commute to work, so I thought to myself, why not whip up a daily breakfast and share a pic of it amongst the team at work,” he says.
“It provided a bit of a structure to my morning and also allowed me to support local by purchasing produce from small businesses.”
When asked why is every breakfast accompanied with a Twinings tea, he replied: “Well, I just happen to think it’s a bloody good cup of tea.”
The initial idea of chronicling the breakfasts was to send a photo to his girlfriend each morning.
The latest breakfast is almond, chocolate and date scones. Yesterday it was quesadilla with soft scrambled eggs and avocado salsa.
Others include: Wilted greens, sauerkraut, leek and feta frittata; smashed avocado and fried halloumi on sourdough; polenta with chorizo, semi-sundried tomatoes, spinach and fried egg.
