Independent marketing and communications agency NATION has made two key senior appointments.

Joe Godsell joins NATION in the newly created role of managing director while long-term employee and current head of copy Katheryn Korczak has been promoted to director.

Godsell was MD of TBWA Adelaide, a position he held for six years.

Korczak has been at NATION for more than eight years, working with brands including South Australia Police, Beyond Bank and the South Australian Country Fire Service.

“The appointment of Joe and Kat will usher in a new era in the life of NATION, as they lead future growth of the agency,” NATION creative director Nick Brz said.

“Joe’s strong business acumen and his strategic vision make him the right fit to inject new energy and a fresh perspective to the agency.

“Kat has been part of NATION for a long time and we’re proud to see her step into a role that allows her to make her mark on the business as we further cement our commitment to creativity. Kat is an exceptional copywriter and a natural leader.”

NATION CEO Greg Knagge said creating what matters to people, brands and organisations is the agency's goal.

"And with two senior appointments, NATION will build upon its current success as a sustainable, high-performing agency.”

Godsell and Korczak will work together with NATION’s existing partners Knagge, Jo Fiedler and Brz to lead the agency.

Godsell said he was thrilled to join NATION as it welcomes in a new era.

“NATION is an exceptional agency that aligns with my values of genuine client partnership. It is humbly and effectively doing great things in market, and I can’t wait to help take it to the next level,” he said.

Korczak said she's honoured to take on this new lead role at NATION while continuing to deliver creativity for its suite of clients.

"The talent of my colleagues is second-to-none so I’m excited to be part of shaping our collective future,” she said.
