Creative agency AJF will be absorbed into sister agency Khemistry, from the new year, AdNews can reveal.

Both agencies are owned by marketing and technology group GrowthOps.

The group was formed in late 2017 as part of an eight-way merger, acquiring creative agency AJF Partnerships, 3wks, Digital Moshi, Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership, jtribe, KDIS, Khemistry and Voodoo Creative.

AJF confirmed the news to AdNews.

"AJF and Khemistry have enjoyed a strong working relationship and have worked together on several projects over the years," the spokesperson said.

"Khemistry is a national agency with multidisciplinary teams across creativity and technology."

AJF has gone through many restructures.

AJF Partnership and PENSO was merged last year. At the same time, Khemistry and GO Digital merged.

AJF Partnership executive creative director Scott Walker will depart the agency in January next year, after two years with the company.

Walker steered the agency through significant change in 2023 when the original founders, Adam Francis and Andrew Foote, departed after close to 18-years.

Walker will be launching a new business in January, describing its as "a unique take to the traditional model".

In 2022, the agency shed a number of roles following a review of its business and a change in leadership.

Recent work from AJF include Yoplait, Visit Victoria, Flatmates, Target and Dairy Farmers.

GrowthOps CEO Clint Cooper told AdNews last year that the group has proactively undertaken some strategic restructuring in 2023 to best meet current and future clients’ needs.

“The restructuring was precipitated by some client wins, and an increasing demand for integrated, digitally led creative services and transformative technology solutions,” Cooper said.

“Historically, we’ve had great collaboration across the Group, so the restructuring has resulted in an even more seamless experience for our clients.”
