UnLtd, the industry’s social purpose organisation, is launching a DJ competition and a Sydney club night for the advertising industry.
The event, called Club UnLtd, will see adland’s hottest DJs go head-to-head, mixing the latest tracks to keep the dance floor alive, while raising funds for youth at risk.
The competition will culminate on May 22 at the club night at Oxford Art Factory with each DJ taking their turn on the decks and with plenty of sponsor activations, happy hours and surprises.
DJ applications are now open until May 1 and UnLtd is calling all industry amateur DJs and budding beatmakers to submit their live DJ mix via the registration page here.
The judging panel will include professional DJs, producers and music insiders who will shortlist the entries to six finalists to battle it out live on the night.
“Our industry loves competition, connection and a great night out - so we thought, why not mix it all together?" said Katie McArthur, head of events at UnLtd:
"Club UnLtd is a fresh way for music lovers in adland to showcase their skills and maybe even take their DJ career to the next level, whilst raising funds and awareness for UnLtd’s work for youth at risk.”
The event, presented by Yahoo and sponsored by Snapchat, will also feature a surprise headline act that will end the night.
"It’s great to see the industry rally behind something that brings us together and makes a real impact," said John McNerney, managing director AUSEA at Yahoo DSP.
"At Yahoo, we’ve seen firsthand the positive impact music has through our partnership with Musicians Making a Difference (MMAD).
"Club UnLtd is a fantastic opportunity to bring our media community together, to let people showcase their best musical talent, while supporting a great cause."
Ticket sales are now open.
