Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has been appointed as the creative agency for online food-delivery service, Menulog, following a competitive pitch earlier this year.
Working with Menulog’s existing agency roster, the win will see Clemenger BBDO Melbourne develop a new brand platform and campaign for Menulog.
Menulog launched its first major campaign in 2017 by Y&R. At the time, it was believed Y&R had won the account and at the time, Menulog told AdNews it "hoped to have an ongoing relationship with the agency".
AdNews understands Y&R will no longer work with Menulog.
"We're very proud of the work we did with Y&R last year and are excited to work with Clemenger moving forward," Menulog marketing director Tasman Page says.
“We were impressed with Clemenger BBDO’s understanding of the category, of the brief and importantly, of how we’re looking to evolve our brand and, entertain the nation with our marketing communications."
The work from Y&R, which featured American actor Jeff Goldblum, was accused of ripping off a UK campaign for Currys' by AMV BBDO. At the time, Page refuted the accusations.
“Working with Menulog is a fantastic opportunity for the team here. Menulog is a brand that values creativity and are up for having a bit of fun in their comms. We’re looking forward to creating great work together," Clemenger BBDO Melbourne MD Simon Lamplough says..
At the end of 2016, Menulog consolidated its media account with Blue449, formerly Match Media, to handle its $10 million account.
