Australia's Clemenger BBDO has dominated the APAC Effies Awards, taking home Agency of the Year, among a string of other nods. The agency won four of the 15 Gold Effies, two silvers and five bronze.
Colenso BBDO and DB Breweries took home the Grand Effie for work on Brewtroleum; a biofuel made from leftover brewed beer yeast.
BBDO Worldwide led on the network level, with a total of 29 gongs. Ogilvy & Mather and MullenLowe Group came in at second and third positions.
Brand of the Year and Marketer of the Year awards were presented to DB Breweries – DB Export and Unilever respectively. These Special Awards are accorded based on the points received on all winners and finalists.
Awards chairman Anthony Wong said the night aims to recognise talent in “tomorrow's world” and noted this year's awards had raised the bar higher than any previous Effies.
Last year's awards saw Colenso BBDO named the most effective agency in the Asia Pacific region while Whybin TBWA Sydney came in at third.
