CHE Proximity CEO Chris Howatson has resigned from the agency, AdNews can reveal.
His next move is not known.
CHE Proximity and Clemenger Group have been contacted for comment.
Howatson has been leading the agency since 2012 and also sits on the board of Clemenger Group.
He has been working within the Clemenger Group, which CHE Proximity is a part of, for nearly 20 years.
Howatson and CHE Proximity chief creative officer Ant White later announced they will start a new venture, Howatson + White.
The news comes following a tough year at CHE Proximity which saw it make a number of redundancies within the business including the managing director roles of its Sydney and Melbourne offices as a result of the impacts that the COVID-19 pandemic had on its clients.
CHE Proximity Sydney executive creative director Wesley Hawes also recently departed the agency recently to join Innocean.
CHE Proximity was recently named the lead creative agency for 7-Eleven and created the campaign for Virgin's first marketing push since the pandemic began.
