My name is James McGrath and I'm that new dashing, witty, intelligent, and overwhelmingly humble journalist you may have come across in the last couple of months.
I'm writing to you all today about a challenge I want to pose to you (not the AdNews Challenge).
There's a depressing lack of moustaches at the AdNews team, and I've found myself the only one doing my bit to change the face of men's health.
As a result, I moustache you all a question...I am calling on all the ad, media, and marketing MoBros to send in pics to raise awareness of the cause. Can you help?
We want to feature as many Mo-clad industry faces in our gallery below. We want to see Sellecks, John Waters-esque pencil moustaches, walruses, pushbrooms, burnsides, artistes, full Truckers, and glorious Zappas.
So send us your happy snaps and we'll feature them right here in a photo gallery, along with links to your fundraising page. I am reliably informed the AdNews jury (the women of the AdNews team) will then choose the best mo of them all.
Movember raises cash for men's health programs including those targeting prostate and testicular cancer, and generally raises awareness about these issues in the wider conciousness.
Let's face it, if you start seeing a flood of moustaches on the street, you're going to want to know why the hirsute are ruling the sidewalks.
But more than that, I want to know that I'm not alone out there in the media and advertising world. I want to seek some handlebar solidarity.
Who out there in ad-land is manly enough to be raising money for Movember?
So send your pic, along with name, job title and company, to jamesmcgrath@yaffa.com.au so we can put them up as soon as we get them - don't forget to include your MoSpace link.
I and we here at AdNews look forward to seeing just how generous the media and advertising industry can be, and just how ridiculous we all look.
For the record, you can find mine here.
Update 25/11
While Movember gets ever closer to drawing to a close, these two Mobros from Carrspace Creative want to keep the party going in December.
Stasi Kotaras and Tyson Carr have pledged to not only keep the mo's, but dye them pink in the first week of December in supoprt of breast cancer awareness.
The only caveat? They need to raise $1500 by the end of the month to do so.
Yes, they only have $530 so far, but let's see if we can tip them over the edge. Who doesn't wamnt to see a glorious pink mo or two walking around?
Even if they don't hit the target, you would have donated to a tuly worthy cause
