Guardian Australia and Broadsheet Media have expanded their strategic partnership, with the Guardian sales team representing Broadsheet advertising assets in Queensland and Western Australian.

The Guardian sales team representing Broadsheet is Queensland state sales manager Sophie George and WA account director Nikki Mercado.

The partnership is effective immediately with the Guardian team currently taking commercial briefs. Brands and advertisers can work with the Broadsheet platform individually or as a combined publisher offering.

The partnership is an opportunity for the Guardian and Broadsheet to work collaboratively to offer a strong combined advertising proposition to brands, with the ability to leverage each publisher's assets to enhance campaigns. The publishers have an existing two-year collaboration, with an editorial and commercial content-sharing arrangement on both platforms.

Michila Macleod, national sales and partnerships director at Broadsheet, said: “Broadsheet is excited to be working with the Guardian on this growth opportunity for our brand.

“We understand the importance of having a local team in QLD and WA to build genuine relationships to create meaningful partnerships that deliver for our clients and agencies. Nikki and Sophie have strong relationships and are incredibly well-regarded within their respective markets.

“We are thrilled to work with them as we build on our advertising success.”

Mason Rook, commercial director at Guardian Australia, said: “With the success of sales representation in these two states over the past year, Guardian Australia sees this as an exciting opportunity to strengthen our existing partnership with Broadsheet.

“Both Guardian Australia and Broadsheet are independent, value aligned publishers who have an amazing relationship with their respective readers. Brands now have a single point of contact to reach a wider and exclusive audience and I’m very confident that Sophie and Nikki will represent both publishers at a premium level.”
