BRISBANE: Home brewing company Brew Cellar, who represent such iconic brands as Morgan's
and Cooper's, have appointed Engine Group as their creative agency. The account was won
without a pitch, and previously all creative was handled in-house.
Engine have been contractually appointed to handle social media marketing, but this role
"will continue to expand, based on performance", said Engine Group business director Tim
Weger.
At present, Engine are establishing a Facebook presence for Brew Cellar and "exploring
strategies to grow the fan-base, as well as exploring other social media forms based on the
success of Facebook".
As proof that they have already expanded beyond their social marketing role, Weger said
that Engine will be taking on a fully-integrated above-the-line Father's Day campaign in
coming weeks.
This news comes in the wake of structural realignment in Engine's creative team, where
Shane Murray, formerly a freelance writer with SapientNitro, has been appointed creative
director, following the departure of writer Bernie Watt on 21 May after nearly two years at
the company.
Murray has fourteen years advertising experience, and has also worked with BCM, McCann
Erickson, Redsuit and Campaign Palace Sydney. He has worked with clients such as the
Queensland Government, Queensland Motorways, Virgin Blue, Stockland and Suncorp.
