IPG Mediabrands has moved to beef up its Perth office, just as agency Initiative is in the middle of a pitch process for the media account of Perth-based iiNet.
It has appointed former national media director from 303Lowe Clive Bingwa, where he held the role for 16 years, to the head of IPG Mediabrands Perth.
IPG executive chairman Henry Tajer said Bingwa would essentially bring the talent of its east coast agencies across to Nullabor.
“We recognise the opportunities for WA-based marketers to broaden both the geographic reach of their communications and also the combination of the media channels they are using,” Tajer said.
“We have ensured that he is fully immersed in our group's skill sets and how to apply them to the Perth market.”
IPG Mediabrands agency Initiative is in the middle of a pitch for internet provider iiNet, which has an estimated main media spend of about $20 million.
Bingwa said the Perth market was “in transition”, with clients demanding a single point to access specialist services.
“IPG Mediabrands has the full complement of media channel capabilities and I have been extremely impressed with its track record in effectiveness for its clients,” Bingwa said.
He will begin with IPG immediately.
