Ben Roberts-Smith, the Victoria Cross winner, has resigned as a senior executive at Seven West Media after losing a defamation case against Nine Entertainment, industry insiders confirmed.
The former SAS soldier stepped down as general manager Seven Queensland, a role he held since 2015.
Seven West CEO James Warburton told staff of the move in an email.
The Federal Court yesterday ruled against Roberts-Smith in a case that painted him as a war criminal.
The judge, hearing evidence from former SAS soldiers, found Roberts-Smith murdered or was complicit in the killing of unarmed Afghans.
