Independent agency network Hero's integrated innovations agency, Smart Partners, has appointed Brendan Keevers as its general manager of digital performance.
Keevers has been leading digital performance at McCann, also part of the Hero group, for more than two years where he worked alongside clients such as University of Melbourne and NSW Government.
“This is an exciting new chapter, and I am very much looking forward to continuing to test the ways in which technology can work with us in developing mutually beneficial relationships for clients,” Keevers says.
“We are in a rare position to leverage our understanding of human interactions with technology to provide sound direction and strategic advice to clients to ultimately innovate their product or services.”
Keevers will lead a team dedicated to identifying efficiencies in digital interactions and communications, with an emphasis on digital performance management including SEO and SEM, digital asset optimisation, e-commerce platforms and digital innovation.
Smart managing partner Dominic Walsh says the revitalised agency will further build its high-end, integrated innovation and consultancy capabilities with the appointment of Keevers at the helm.
“We’ve seen a strong trend for incorporating technology with human behavioural economics to develop meaningful customer experiences and it’s a space we will definitely be looking to own," Walsh says.

Keevers has 15 years’ experience working from the ground up across gigital, strategy and IT, focusing on e-commerce, information-value exchange and artificial intelligence machine learning integration.
Keevers has worked on brands such as University of Melbourne, NSW Government, Melbourne Airport, Gold Coast City Council, Tradelink, Wallace Bishop, HiSmile Teeth and Navitas.
Founded by Ben Lilley, Hero recently launched across Australia and New Zealand and brings together McCann, Smart, BBE, JSA Digital, The Red Republic, and Engine Room Productions within one consolidated group.
